🧭 What is JEE 2026?

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is a national-level entrance test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admissions into premier engineering colleges like IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs.

JEE is conducted in two phases:

  • JEE Main 2026 – For NITs, IIITs, and qualifying for JEE Advanced

  • JEE Advanced 2026 – For admission into the prestigious IITs

JEE Main is held multiple times in a year in online mode across various centres in India and abroad.

⟢ JEE 2026 Eligibility Criteria ⟣

To appear for JEE 2026, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Nationality

Indian citizens, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs & foreign nationals can apply for JEE Main 2026.
Eligibility for JEE Advanced varies by nationality and qualifying marks.

Age Limit

No age limit for JEE Main. For JEE Advanced, candidates should be born on or after 1st Oct 2001 (with relaxation for reserved categories). Only those who passed 12th in 2024, 2025 or appearing in 2026 are eligible.

Educational Qualification

Must have passed or appearing in Class 12 with Physics, Mathematics, and one of Chemistry/Biology/Biotech/Technical Vocational Subject. Top 20 percentile or 75% marks (Gen/OBC) and 65% (SC/ST) in Class 12 for JEE Advanced.

Number of Attempts

JEE Main: Maximum 3 attempts

(in 3 consecutive years)
JEE Advanced: 2 attempts

(in 2 consecutive years only)
